In the second episode of the audio book True Hallucinations by Terence McKenna, he starts an introduction to the cast of characters. This episode is particularly poignant to me as he elucidates a particular relationship to people who think they know what is going on in this planet. I have had quite a similar experience with people who have all their rules and gods dragging behind them and a big guilt stick to beat me with when I don’t run their little course… funny… aren’t we all just happy hippies?

Terrence McKenna recounts his experiences at La Chorrera in the Colombian Amazon. A band of merry men and women embarked on a journey to find “yahe’, a South American shamans brew that was reported to materialise ‘little men’ that jump in and out of your chest as you experience the effects of the brew. This led the party to La Chorrera where they encountered the ‘gold top’ mushrooms that grow in cow dung of the tropics. The mushrooms containing psilocybin and psilocin, which is close relative of one of the active ingredients of the ‘yahe’ brew, dimethyltryptamine. This led Dennis McKenna, Terrence’s brother to conduct an experiment to exteriorise the soul into a super conductive bond with the psilocybin molecule thus creating a manifestation of the human with an integrated soul/body/mind.
